Being new to DCC, I knew I had a lot to learn. After reading a lot of reviews, and still not feeling confident about which product to spend the money on, I opted for the NCE Power Cab. it gets the job done, but has left me a bit disappointed. I liked that it is a self-contained unit... the command center is contained within the throttle/cab. There was no need to purchase additional components in order to run trains. Out of the box, I was disappointed to find this product to be plagued with many faults common to mass-produced plastic devices. The edges were rough/sharp. The printed keypad applique was raised up along the edges. The thing looked like cheap plastic crap, but the minor asthetic production flaws were easily remedied. I followed all the instructions to the letter. The red power light came on, but my locos did not respond to commands. I contacted friends who use Power Cab and was told to take the cab apart and look for pinched or crimp wires. I did. That is...
