The Bind-N-Fly system is great, it lets you get a good controller that you can take with you when you upgrade planes, instead of being stuck with the usual junky controllers with the ready-to-fly kits. The Cub is also a great plane, it's easy to fly, forgiving, but still has pretty good power (loops and hammerhead climbs work great). It's got a very durable design as well with the rubber-band wing assembly - I crashed it wing tip first once, and I just had to re-align the wing to get flying again.
It also has an anti-crash backup which will automatically bring the plane to level if you mess up too badly, which is great when you're getting started trying to get comfortable with the controls. I would still recommend a PC simulator like RealFlight so that you can practice and really push your limits before you take out the real thing - if only because it gets you over that initial nervousness and into when it's really fun and confident to fly.
